About me
Julie Kasper has been working in the ESL/ELD field for over 17 years, 13 of those in U.S. public schools. She received her MA in TESOL, K-12 from Teachers College, Columbia University and earned her National Board Certification in English as a New Language for Early Adolescents and Young Adults in 2011. She has taught a variety of ELD courses in Tucson, in NYC, and overseas to ELLs from diverse backgrounds. Julie is currently serving as School Coordinator for Refugee Resettlement in Tucson at Refugee Focus. Julie is also the co-founder of the Finding Voice Project, a nationally recognized program in literacy, arts, and civic engagement. She brings her passion for educating ELLs to her work and is excited to share her experience with you as you work to develop strategies and lessons suited to your diverse students in your unique teaching context.
