About me
Dr. Joan Lachance is an associate professor at UNC Charlotte and the Co-Director of EMMA (Educators for a Multilingual and Multicultural America) under the auspices of Dual Language Education of New Mexico. She is the co-author of the National Dual Language Education Teacher Preparation "EMMA" Standards and is part of a core team leading the charge to advance their use across the nation, in varying contexts. More recently, Dr. Lachance co-authored the second edition of the Collier & Thomas book titled Educating for a Transformed World: A Guide for Collaborative Professional Learning.
