WABE 2026 Annual Conference

Marlene Perez serves as the Multilingual Learner Program Supervisor in the Equity and Dual Programs Department for Walla Walla Public Schools. With over two decades of experience as a bilingual paraeducator, teacher, interventionist, and administrator, she has dedicated her career to advocating for multilingual learners and advancing educational equity. Marlene holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and has led professional development across Washington State on culturally responsive practices, dual language programming, and leadership development for educators of color. Her work centers on storytelling as a tool for advocacy and visibility, inspiring educators to lead with empathy, cultural humility, and purpose.
