WABE 2026 Annual Conference

Dr. Patricia Venegas-Weber is originally from Chile and holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in the development of bilingual education teachers’ professional identity. She has more than 20 years of experience in bilingual education with certifications in English as a Second Language (ESL), bilingual education, and as a Reading Specialist. She was part of the team that wrote the WIDA English Standards and the Spanish MARCO DALE. She currently serves as the Dual Language Program Supervisor at the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
