About me
Passionate about multilingual education and cultural connection, Cecilia Tamayo brings 20 years of experience as an educator and leader across three countries and two U.S. cities. Originally from Miami, Florida, I grew up bilingual in Spanish and English in a Cuban-Nicaraguan family, which sparked my lifelong love for languages and global perspectives. I’ve taught subjects ranging from biology to Spanish World Language and Dual Language, serving students from Pre-K through high school. Today, I serve as Assistant Director of Multilingual Education for the Puyallup School District, supporting Dual Language, Multilingual Learners, and Language Access initiatives, while navigating the journey as a proud dual language parent. Outside of work, you’ll find me cooking, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
